Coming out on Houston based label, Berkalin Records, Sarah Pierce’s Blessed By The West is a collection of 13 vignettes. Pierce shares with the listener her love for the west. The deepest of deserts, the highest of mountains, the incredible strength of its people. Life. Death. Truth. She does this through incredibly written songs that are perfectly performed and meticulously produced by Merel Bregante.

Tucked into the tracks in the album are what Pierce refers to as ‘The Trilogy,’ Pierce has written 3 songs about strong women that defined the character of the west in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. “The Librarian”, “The Messenger”, and “Rough Stock” are songs about women that were willing to break all the rules…to ‘in the face of great adversity, risk their lives on every ride.’ Women that set the stage for the freedoms found today.

Elsewhere on the album Pierce confesses her love for the West on the title track, a song that she describes by simply stating, “I love the west. Her creatures, weather, land. She gives us humans a chance to be a part of this wonderful creation. This love for where she lives comes through again on the self explanatory gem of the album, “I wanna Go Home”.

Overall the beautifully crafted, Blessed By The West, is an album for all ages. An album written by a woman with a sense of purpose. And, more importantly, written by a woman that understands and knows well, the magic of being Blessed By The West.

Sarah Pierce is a singer-songwriter known for her rich, alto voice and authentic country sound.  Born in Rockford, Illinois, and raised in rural West Texas, Sarah’s roots run deep in the American heartland. A cowboy’s daughter, she began singing in her stepfather’s band at age 12 and never looked back. After studying voice and earning a degree in medical science, Sarah embarked on a music career that has spanned hundreds of thousands of miles, numerous albums, and performances at fairs, festivals, conventions, and concert dates across the US, Europe, and Scandinavia. Her music has been featured on MTV, NPR, and AC/Country radio stations, and she was the singing voice of Calamity Jane in the Emmy-nominated TV mini-series ‘The Wild West.’ With multiple charting singles, including ‘Butterfly Tattoo’ and ‘I’m Sorry,’   Sarah’s music is a testament to her talent, dedication, and passion. Her latest album, ‘Blessed By The West,’ releases September 2024, promising more of the honest, heartfelt songwriting her fans have come to love.
